In every issue we Ayurveda tells about the physical ailments and natural conditions of women under the heading of health; We keep watching. One of the most important diseases for such women is endometriosis. It is endometrial disease in Tamil; is called. To know about this, first we need to know what is endometrium. Endometrium is a thin membrane-like tissue that grows inside the uterus.
It grows during the menstrual cycle and when an embryo does not form there, it breaks down into pieces and is passed out monthly through the menstrual flow. The female hormones estrogen and progesterone help this endometrial tissue grow. so, During a woman’s menstrual cycle, the endometrium develops and functions with the help of hormones, and undergoes many changes.
During the menstrual cycle, when an egg is formed, the level of hormones changes, and when the egg implants in the uterus, the size and function of the endometrium tissue continues to change. When the egg and sperm do not attach, these changes are shed and excreted into the bloodstream.
Sometimes in some women, when this endometrial tissue does not grow in the inner wall of the uterus, but in other parts of the fallopian tube (fallopian tube), ovaries (ovaries) or other places or in the abdomen, we call it endometriosis. Sometimes the disease develops in the brain, pelvis and liver in very few people.
Very rarely, it can grow around the digestive tract, lungs and heart and cause various problems for women. In endometriosis, the endometrial tissue that grows outside the uterus changes every month and causes various problems. Normally, the endometrial tissue that develops in the uterus is shed through the menstrual flow. But endometriosis causes this tissue to remain in the body, leading to inflammation and the possibility of degeneration. Today in India alone up to 20 percent of women suffer from this disease.
It usually occurs in women between 25 and 35 years of age. white; It is more common in ethnic women and less common in black African, American, and Asian women compared to white women. Underweight women and women with weak immune system are more likely to get this disease. The incidence of this disease is less in postmenopausal and elderly women. Also, 20 to 50 percent of women who suffer from infertility have endometriosis as the cause.
ReasonsScience says there are many causes of endometriosis. They are: *Retrograde Menstruation – When menstrual bleeding flows backwards (in the opposite direction) into the fallopian tube or ovary, endometrial cells can migrate into the fallopian tube or ovary. May migrate into organs.*Peritoneal; Peritoneal cell transformation – transformation of peritoneal cells into endometrial tissue due to certain immune problems or hormones.
Symptoms of Endometriosis*Symptoms of endometriosis depend on the area where the endometrial tissue grows. Some common symptoms of endometriosis include:*The symptoms of this disease are not visible in the early stages.; Pain is the most common symptom, but the severity of the pain is not always related to the extent of the disease.

What Ayurveda Says About EndometriosisAccording to Ayurveda, all movements in our body are caused by vada dosha. Abana vada includes urination, defecation, flatulence, discharge of blood during menstruation, discharge of fetus during childbirth, Ejaculation in males. Its normal direction is downwards.
When a woman does certain things in her diet and lifestyle to reduce Abana vada, it is downwards; Instead of going, it starts moving upwards. Thus during menstruation; Blood moves upward in the pelvic cavity instead of exiting through the vagina. As a result, the tissue called the endometrium can reach the bowel and pelvic organs and cause damage. Eventually, the endometrium begins to grow in abnormal places, causing adhesions, swelling, and severe pain when bleeding occurs during menstruation. Instead of going, it starts moving upwards.
